Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has been replaced as the Senate Deputy Minority Leader.
He was ejected on Wednesday and replaced by Kilifi Senator Stewart Madzayo.
While removing him from the prestigious opposition role, Senator Malala’s colleagues in the NASA coalition accused of being disrespectful to his colleagues.
He is also accused of alleged misconduct and mischief in the recent Matungu by-election in which he supported Musalia Mudavadi’s ANC candidate vying against the ODM aspirant.

Malala was kicked out during a Senate Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting convened by Senate Minority Leader James Orengo on Wednesday 9:00 am at Parliament Buildings.
Speaking after the Kakamega Senator’s ouster, Orengo indicated that all the 28 NASA senators had been invited through the Deputy Minority Whip Beatrice Kwamboka.

Trouble started for the ANC MP last year when he opposed the controversial Division of Revenue Bill fronted in Parliament by President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM Party Leader Raila Odinga.
Malala got the position due to his loyalty then to ODM and its leader Raila Odinga and his perceived disloyalty to the two seems to have resulted in his dismissal coming as his party leader Musalia Mudavadi has also been at loggerheads with Raila over 2022 succession politics.
I condemn the removal of Sen Cleo Malala as Senate D/Minority leader. It is selfish, unhelpful, unlawful, vindictive, intolerant, vengeful and against the NASA coalition Agreement. It has a direct link to the outcome of the Matungu byelection. Bure kabisa!!
