Agnes Kavindu Muthama was sworn in as the Senator for Machakos County on Tuesday.
Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka alongside Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo and his Kitui colleague Enoch Wambua accompanied Kavindu to the event in the Senate chambers.
“Today I have been sworn-in by Speaker Kenneth Lusaka at the Senate, I wish to thank the people of Machakos and Wiper Movement for the mandate they have given me and for their steadfast confidence in me,” the new Senator said.
Kavindu, who is former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama’s former wife, triumphed in the hotly contested Machakos senate by-election by a landslide on March 19.
Her win was seen as an approval of Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka’s strong hold on Ukambani against claimed onslaught by UDA party linked to Deputy President William Ruto.
