Members of Parliament Simba Arati (ODM) of Dagoretti North and Silvanus Osoro (KNC) of South Mugirango on Friday reconciled publicly after engaging in a ugly brawl at a funeral in Kisii three weeks ago.
Arati and Osoro on Friday morning met again at the burial of Bonchari MP John Oroo Oyioka in Kisii South where they shook hands and announced that they had decided to bury the hatchet.
Addressing mourners, Arati called his erstwhile nemesis Osoro to the podium and apologise to the Gusii community and Kenyans for their fight that disrupted a funeral earlier this month.
Their gesture was sealed with a hug and a handshake and was celebrated with jubilation at the funeral service as they were joined at podium by other Gusii MPs across the political divide.

“We can disagree politically but that doesn't mean we engage in war. This marks a new beginning. Let us embrace peace and work together for the sake of our people,” Arati said.
The two MPs engaged in a shameful brawl at the burial of Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi's father, Abel Gongera, at Tendere in Kisii County on February 1 as mourners watchd in disbelief.
Among those present were their party bosses, Deputy President William Ruto of Jubilee Party and ODM Leader Raila Odinga who watched in disbelief from a distance but did not intervene.
