Police at the Busia border crossing point on Tuesday arrested the key suspect linked to the murder of Rahab Karisa, the Chief Officer for Mining and Blue Economy in Kilifi County.

The late Karisa's househelp was apprehended as she attempted to flee the country marking a crucial development in the ongoing investigation.

The tragic incident unfolded at Rahab's residence in Mnarani, Kilifi County, during the early hours of Thursday.

The news of her untimely demise sent shockwaves through the region, with Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung’aro expressing profound grief and sadness over the loss of the young and talented officer.

Rahab had only just returned to the country from a county workshop in Italy a day before her life was tragically cut short.

According to the police, the suspect in question was Rahab's housekeeper, who allegedly stabbed her before fleeing the scene.
