Embakasi East Member of Parliament, Babu Owino, made startling revelations in court during the ongoing trial regarding the misuse of a firearm.

The outspoken legislator asserted that he had expended a staggering sum of Sh58.6 on the treatment and well-being of Felix Orinda, popularly known as DJ Evolve.

The court proceedings, presided over by Magistrate Bernard Ochoi, unveiled Babu Owino's significant investments made on behalf of the DJ, including the purchase of a luxurious apartment worth 17 million shillings in the affluent Kilimani area.

In his impassioned defence, the MP emphasized his commitment to Dj Evolve's welfare, stating, "The family was not able to take care of him, and as a leader, I continued paying the medical bills. The total bills accumulated to Sh23 million. He was immobile and could not move. I bought an apartment in Kilimani for approximately Sh17 million and hired two nurses, two physiotherapists, and one occupational therapist, incurring monthly expenses of Sh300,000."

Babu further disclosed his intentions to facilitate DJ Evolve's continued treatment and establish a DJ academy for him.

Additionally, I cover his monthly upkeep costs of Sh70,000 for bills and food. The monthly medicine expenses amount to Sh80,000, and I have paid a total of Sh5.5s over 37 months."

Addressing the specific incident that led to the charges against him, Babu Owino vehemently denied any wrongdoing.

He adamantly asserted that his firearm had malfunctioned on that fateful day, rendering it incapable of discharging a bullet. He contended, "The gun could not shoot. The bullet could have come from another firearm."
