Police in Narok County are investigating Transmara South Deputy County Commissioner Abdihakim Mohamud Jubat who was filmed threatening villagers with an Al Shabaab attack.
In the video that has gone viral on social media, Jubat was captured invoking the name of the Somali terror group to threaten locals with whom he is engaged in a bitter land tussle.
The threat was issued during a confrontation between him and residents of Olempongiot village in Transamara East a week ago after he lost a court case pitting him against them.
“Kitu mimi nakudhibitishia; leo mimi pamoja na kundi yangu tutakuja kulala hapa. Al Shabaab itakuwa hapa...italipuka!” the DCC is heard threatening in the widely shared clip.

The Kilgoris Environment and Lands Court annulled the title deed to the contested 43-acre land which Jubat claims to have bought from the family of James Laton Konchellah in 2013.
In its ruling, the Kilgoris court termed “illegal and irregular” the DCC’s purchase of the land even as he has vowed to challenge the court decision that went against his favour.
However, the family of Konchellah led by Emmanuel Laton has discounted the claims that they sold the land to the DCC, accusing the senior government officials of intimidation.
“The court ruled that this land belongs to us and after waiting for an appeal from Jubat for 14 days we decided to occupy this land and then the DCC later came here with police and started threatening us,” said Emmanuel Laton in an interview with Citizen Digital.
The family is demanding that the government takes actions against its senior official saying a heavy contingent of police officers have been deployed to the disputed land to bully them.
“That matter is before the court and before the police. What they are saying, it is better if they (police) did their own investigation and the case we have in court concludes. For now, I cannot make any comment,” Jubat told Citizen Tv.
And Narok County Commissioner Isaac Masinde says Jubat informed him the clip had been edited and that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) was probing the allegations.
“I have talked personally to the DCC and he has said that clip was edited so that it suits a certain narrative. The DCI is investigating those allegations,” stated Masinde.
