A host of local artistes including former Mathare Constituency Jubilee Party aspirant Kevin Kioko alias Bahati and KRG The Don have joined President William Ruto’s United Development Alliance (UDA).

UDA Secretary-General Cleophas Malala who welcomed the new members to the party announced the move through his social media account.

“This morning, I had the rare opportunity of welcoming to the Party new members led by Former Mathare Constituency, Jubilee aspirant, Kevin Kioko, alias Bahati Kenya, Imenti South Constituency aspirant, Mc Jesse, Ruffton, KRG and other notable artistes from the Kenyan entertainment industry,” Malala said.

Malala noted UDA’s reception to the youth and reiterated the party’s pledges to empower the youth in the country.

“UDA has its doors open to Kenyan youths from all walks of life, and pledges to walk it's talk on matters youth empowerment in the country,” Malala added.

Bahati also took to his social media account to announce his move to his supporters and followers.

He thanked Ruto for creating an environment he termed as conducive for the youth.

“Prodigal son happy to be back home... officially received by the u.d.a party secretary general @cleophasmalala, other leaders and fellow musicians at the headquarters,” Bahati wrote.

“Thank you so much h.e the president william ruto for creating a condusive environment for the youth.”

According to Malala, it was agreed that the party, in conjunction with the artistes roll out a nationwide song composition fête for the UDA ANTHEM where the winner is expected to carry a handsome amount home.
