The Kenya Kwanza coalition on Tuesday unveiled its seven-member team that will sit down with Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party for bipartisan dialogue through the National Assembly.

The members selected to the talks are Senator Boni Khalwale (Kakamega), Senator Hillary Sigei (Bomet), Senator Essy Okenyuri (Nominated), MP Adan Keynan (Eldas), Woman Rep Lydia Haika (Taita Taveta), MP George Murugara (Tharaka), MP Mwengi Mutuse (Kibwezi West).

National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah said the Kenya Kwanza Parliamentary Group settled on the seven MPs during a Tuesday early morning meeting at State House Nairobi.

Ichung'wa said the Kenya Kwanza PG insisted that President William Ruto will run the country by following provisions of the law and was working with Raila Odinga’s side for national progress.

The Kikuyu MP added that Kenya Kwanza coalition was focusing on pushing for adoption of policies that will lower the high cost of living, create employment for Kenyans and stabilize the economy.

On Thursday, Raila’s Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition party brigade named seven members it is sending to the bipartisan parliamentary talks during its Parliamentary Group meeting in Machakos.

The team has Senator Edwin Sifuna (Nairobi), Senator Ledama Ole Kina (Narok), Senator Enock Wambua (Makueni), as well as MPs Otiende Amollo (Rarieda), Millie Odhiambo (Suba North), David Pkosing (Pokot South) and Amina Mnyazi (Malindi).

During a State House address, President William Ruto on April 2 appealed to Raila to suspend his anti-government demonstrations and called for dialogue on the issues the opposition was raising.

In calling for the demos every Monday and Tuesday, Raila demanded the opening of IEBC servers, review of the IEBC Selection Panel composition and the lowering of the current high cost of living.
