TECNO on Thursday announced the pre-order period for its first-ever foldable smartphone, the Phantom V-Fold, as the new entrant to the Phantom X2 series that was unveiled in January 2023.

The Phantom V-Fold will be available for pre-order in Kenya from April 3 – 17, 2023 with customers expected to pay an upfront fee of Sh5,000 and pay the balance amount when they collect the device.

The new device comes with a storage capacity of 12GB RAM, 512GB ROM and 0.11mm screen crease, making the display panel smoother and more user friendly when the phone is unfolded.

The smartphone also comes with a Mediatek Dimensity 9000+chip, one of the industry’s leading chipset 4nm TSMC.

In March 2023, TECNO was among thousands of brands that showcased its latest inventions during a four-day event bringing together the latest innovations in its field.

Headlining at TECNO’s booth was its smartphone series including Phantom, Camon, Spark, POP and its latest AIoT product ecosystem that covers the smart individual, smart business and smart home.


This year’s MWC summit saw TECNO’s debut as a new and rising driving force in the smartphone and AIoT industry across the globe, including the global unveiling of the Phantom V-Fold smart device.

The Phantom V-Fold will be officially launched in Kenya later in April and it is expected to introduce into the local market the most affordable foldable device.
