Raila Odinga-led Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition has unveiled the seven-member team that will represent the party in the bipartisan engagement with the government.

This follows President William Ruto's call for a bipartisan legislative process to tackle issues being raised by Azimio that occasioned the nationwide demonstrations.

The Azimio team comprises two senators, namely Edwin Sifuna (Nairobi), Enoch Wambua (Kitui) and Ledama Ole Kina (Narok).

Also in the team are five members of Parliament: Millie Odhiambo (Mbita), Amina Mnyanzi (Malindi), David Pkosing (Pokot South) and Otiende Amolo (Rarieda).

This comes after Azimio Parliamentary Group met in Athir River on Thursday where they agreed on the following as terms of reference:

  • Recommend measures to lower the cost of Unga
  • Conduct a forensic review of the IEBC servers.
  • Review appointment and dismissal of IEBC commissioners
  • Recommend legal policies to strengthen the electoral systems to entrench a culture of free and fair elections.
  • Review the circumstances that led to the dismissal of Cherera Four and reinstate them.
  • Those members who leave parties to resign and seek fresh mandate

Earlier in the day, Ruto said Azimio can either agree to the bipartisan engagement with his government through the Parliment or wait until the next general election in 2027.
