Azimio leader Raila Odinga on Tuesday condemned the attacks on his family’s East Africa Spectre Limited plans in Nairobi and Kenyatta family’s Northlands City in Kiambu County.

Raila spoke when he visited Northlands City owned by former President Uhuru Kenyatta’s family on Tuesday, a day after it was attacked by goons, livestock stolen and then set ablaze.

Flanked by Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua and Jeremiah Kioni, fingered President William Ruto and DP Rigathi Gachagua for the attacks on Northlands City and his East Africa Spectre.

On Monday, goons, who were on foot, breached Northlands and stole up to 1,400 sheep while another on motorcycles hurled stones at his cylinder manufacturing plant Spectre.

“The country is in the hands of men who are goons at heart while pretending to be leaders and statesmen,” said Raila at Northlands.

He added, “How does Ruto go to Germany and talk about attracting foreign investments to Kenya but back at home, he has put in place a machinery for vicious attacks on local investments.”

Raila accused Ruto and Gachagua of overseeing the two attacks as well as using the police to ferociously clamp down on peaceful protesters during his anti-government protests.

“In this latest act of desperation by Ruto and Gachagua, we see a plot that will be extremely disastrous for the country’s long-term stability and economy,” said Raila.

He went on, “Let's make no mistake, nobody must pretend to be safe. Anyone in any part of the country has every reason to fear. Anyone with a sizeable piece of land or business must be very afraid.”

The raids by armed youth on the businesses owned by the Kenyattas and Odingas happened as Raila led anti-government demos with police opting to stay away from the two locations.

Speaking later at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation in Nairobi, Raila vowed to continue with his planned protests on Mondays and Thursdays with another round of anti-government demos slated for this Thursday.

"Ruto must make no mistake. We will continue marching on, growing stronger and more powerful with each vile response, and we will not give up," he said.
