Law Society of Kenya (LSK) President Nelson Havi has suffered a blow after High court suspended implementation of all resolutions made during a heated Special General Meeting.

The court has suspended all the decisions spearheaded by Havi during the SGM that was held on January 18 until a petition filed by lawyer Kamotho Njenga is heard and determined.

In his court direction, Justice Weldon Korir said the implementation of the resolutions will be suspended until the case filed by Njenga challenging the SGM decisions is concluded.

“For avoidance of doubt, the implementation of the resolutions shall cease forthwith and all activities arising from the resolutions and the decisions of the Special General Meeting are suspended,” ruled Korir.

Chaos rocked the Special General Meeting convened by LSK last month after Havi blocked some members from voting virtually in the heated session that almost degenerated into fisticuffs.

LSK has been rocked with internal turmoil pitting a section of members allied to the society President supporting his actions and another accusing him of dictatorship and wants him out.
