Twenty-one people have been confirmed dead while forty-nine others sustained serious injuries after the bus they were travelling in was involved in a grisly accident near the Kenyan and Ugandan border on Sunday.
The Nairobi-bound bus that departed the Ugandan city of Mbale crashed at Lwakhakha momentarily after crossing the border from the neighbouring country.
According to Ugandan regional police spokesman Rogers Taitika, preliminary investigations revealed the driver of the bus was over-speeding before losing control of the bus, causing it to veer off the road and resulting in the accident.
