Nairobi County Governor Johnson Sakaja on Wednesday announced the names of those he has picked as County Executive Committee Members (CECMs) two months after being sworn into office.
While announcing the county CECs, Sakaja thanked Nairobians for electing him as governor and James Njoroge as his deputy in running the capital city in the August 9, General Election.
“I once again thank the citizens of this great city for giving me and my Deputy, His Excellency James Njoroge Muchiri, the mandate to lead. We have been in office for 62 days and if there is one thing we are now, more than ever, convinced of, is that we can make Nairobi work,” Sakaja said.
The UDA governor said he prioritise making “Nairobi green again” while promoting health, wellness citizen engagement to foster easier access to services offered by the county.

He touted the new team of CECs as best suited to tackle the challenges facing Nairobi.
“Today, we introduce the nominees for County Executive Committee Members for Nairobi City County Government. This team of men and women have been carefully selected to meet the challenge of the responsibility before them,” he intimated.
Sakaja revealed that he had on Wednesday afternoon forwarded their names to the Nairobi County Assembly for vetting and approval to be able to assume office by mid-November.

2. Innovation and Digital Economy - Michael Gumo
3. Talent, Skills Development and Care - Brian Mulama
4. Mobility and Works - Patrick Mbogo
5. Built Environment and Urban Planning - Stephen Gathuita Mwangi
6. Boroughs Administration and Personnel - Ibrahim Auma Nyangoya
7. Business and Hustler Opportunities - Rosemary Kariuki
8. Green Nairobi (Environment, Water, Food and Agriculture) - Ms. Maureen Njeri
9. Health, Wellness and Nutrition - Dr. Anastasia Mutethya Nyalita
10. Inclusivity, Public Participation and Customer Service - Suzanne Silantoi
11. County Secretary - Dr. Jairus Musumba
He has also appointed the following as members of his team:
1. Chief of Staff – Mr. David Njoroge
2. Economic Affairs Advisor- Mr. Lawrence Wambua
3. Legal Advisor- Mr. Elias Mutuma
4. Health Advisor – Dr. Samora Otieno
5. Political Advisor- Mr. William Ndung’u ‘Fazul’
6. Mobility Advisor – Prof. Washington Yotto Ochieng
7. Urban and Regional Planning – John Mwangi Maina

“This is the Executive team that we shall work with to make Nairobi a working city of Order, Dignity, Hope and Opportunity for all,” Sakaja added.
He added that the newly introduced Boroughs Administration and Personnel, alongside the Business and Hustler Opportunities dockets will report directly to Deputy Governor Muchiri.
