Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya had proven he was a man of his word after having a lunch date with the lady who ‘proposed’ to him as he promised.

Salasya took to his social media accounts to share details of their lunch date with the lady known as Lydia at the Parliament Buildings on Tuesday.

“Finally Kenyans, I told you that I will invite her for a lunch. In fact, we have happened to have had a lunch with her. I have congratulated her for the courage…she’s a brave girl,” Salasya said.

The new MP also pledged to support Lydia achieve her dreams.

However, on the lady’s proposal, Salasya wittingly dodged the bullet by citing his busy schedule with matters of his constituency that he said he was focused on but promised to remain a good friend of Lydia’s.

“I have a lot of work in the constituency at the moment which maybe…might not allow me to focus so much unto the other side, but she will be a friend. I’ll support her in whatever way, job, businesswise, I’ll support her.

Salasya gave the lady his ‘blessings’ to become the next Kisii County Woman Representative.

He, on a light note, said Lydia might be a replacement for his friend Silvanus Osoro who is the MP for South Mugirango.

“She will be the next Woman Rep for Kisii County. I will support her,” the MP said.

Lydia had reached out to Salasya via the streets and poured out her heart to him, asking him to marry her.

Salasya in return invited Lydia for lunch at the Parliament Buildings.
