The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) while responding to Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition's evidence of Venezuenal national Jose Camargo altered Forms 34A in the IEBC server acknowledged its serial numbers error in its KIEMS kits.

The commission's lawyer Mahat Somane said the errors came from the serialisation of the technology devices.

Somane said their role as legal representatives at the Supreme Court was to provide information for the court to make a ruling.

"We understood our role in this court is to provide all the information for it to make a decision. We admit that those KIEMS have the same serial number. It was an error that originated at the time of the serialisation," Somane said.

However, Somene maintained the KIEMS kits have unique identifiers.

“But the KIEMS kits have different identifiers, IP addresses, IMEI, polling station,” he said.

Petitioner's legal team on Friday presented fresh evidence pointing out to the possibility that someone unauthorised accessed the the IEBC system an manipulated forms in the portal.

The evidence sparked a heated argument between IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati's lead counsel Githu Muigai and Azimio's lead counsel James Orengo.

Githu therefore asked the court to allow Chebukati to respond to the allegations accusing Azimio's legal team of introducing fresh evidence in court.
