The Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition filed an online petition at the Supreme Court on Monday ahead of filing the physical copy.
The coalition’s legal team led by Senior Counsel James Orengo filed the petition at the Supreme Court sub-registry at the Milimani Law Courts.
This is according to one lawyer representing the coalition Daniel Maanzo who said they are now working towards delivering the physical petition before the deadline.

The Supreme Court (Presidential Election Petition) Rules 2017 dictate that if a petition is submitted on the last day of filing, then it should be done before 2 pm on the said day.
"We have filed the petition electronically through the e-filing platform as we wait for the physical documents so that the court can assert the submission," Maanzo said.
"We have until 2 p.m but I can assure you that everything is ready. The team is still compiling the paperwork into books and they should be on their way to court any time from now," he stated.
Raila and the Azimio coalition rejected the presidential election result as they were announced by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati last Monday.
They said they would file a petition to contest the election results on grounds of electoral malpractice that led to Kenya Kwanza Alliance leader William Ruto being declared the winner and president-elect.
