The Kenya Kwanza Alliance presidential candidate William Ruto has once again come under fire from Kenyans after making disparaging remarks targeting Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu.

The Deputy President was on a campaign tour in Kitui County when he made those remarks that painted him in the light of a misogynist.

Ruto, while addressing members of Kitui digressed and asked the whereabouts of Ngilu before questioning her eligibility for marriage.

“And that woman, where did she go,” Ruto inquired and got the response from a section of the crowd that she had gone to Bondo, which is Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition presidential candidate Raila Odinga’s home.

The DP further probed why the woman in question went to Bondo.

“How did she go to Bondo? Did you deny her your votes?” Ruto asked.

Another member of the crowd shouted the woman had been married in Bondo.

In a quick rejoinder, Ruto asked who would marry her at such an old age.

“Can such an old woman get married? Who will marry her?,” Ruto posed.

Ruto’s remarks elicited mixed reactions from Kenyans with some of them expressing their disappointment in him as they underscored his dislike and disrespect for women, while some blatantly tried to even the scores.
