Deputy President William Ruto has lost an integral member of his economic task force Edward Mwachinga

Mwachinga who was recently appointed to the Kenya Kwanza Alliance’s National Economic Taskforce collapsed and died on Tuesday night at his Nairobi home.

Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi confirmed Mwachinga’s passing via his social media accounts.

“Sadenned by the passing on of my brother & Chairperson of the National Election Board of the PAA Party, Edward Mwachinga. Mr. Edward Mwachinga recently been appointed to the Kenya Kwanza Alliance National Economic Task Force where we envisaged immeasurable input from him,” Kingi wrote.

According to a relative to the Nairobi lawyer, he was diagnosed with a heart condition in 2021 and had since been under medical care in facilities within and without the country.

Mwachinga was also the Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) party’s National Elections Board chairperson.

The PAA party leader Amason Kingi has mourned Mwachinga as a determined scholar, passionate about turning the lives of the coastal people for the better.

"It goes without saying that as a County, and as a party, we have indeed lost a strong-willed scholar who gave everything when it came to empowering the lives of the Coastal people. May God rest his soul in peace," Kingi said.
