Jariel Ndeda Obura of Mang’u High School has emerged as the best student in the just-released results of the 2021 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).

Education CS George Magoha announced the KCPE results on Saturday at Mtihani House, Nairobi.


Jariel emerged as the top student after getting a mean score of 87.167 in the exams.

He was followed by Timothy Mukuha Kamau, a student of Alliance School with 87.139 points.

Another student from Mang'u High School Job Ngara Kamau of Mang'u came in third with 87.116

The following is the list of the top 10 performers in the 2021 KCSE:

  3. Job Ngara Kamau, Mang’u High School - 87.116
  4. Shekinah Peta, Kenya High School - 87.079
  5. Daniel Ouma Mshindi, Light Academy - 87.076
  6. Brenda Cherotich, Kipsigis Girls' High School - 87.066
  7. Job Ngatia Mugane, Strathmore School - 87.064
  8. Pretie Ariona, Kapsabet High - 87.059
  9. Caleb Mutethya, Mang'u - 87.057
  10. Melanie Nelima, Kenya High - 87.047

While releasing the results, Magoha outlined milestones achieved under Education reforms addressing access, equity and quality of education learners get in public primary and secondary schools. 

Magoha said that candidates can access the 2021 KCSE exam results by sending their index number to 20076.
