Felix Oduor or popularly known by his stage name Jalang’o has bagged the ODM ticket for Langata parliamentary contest.

The comedian-cum politician is going to fly the ODM ticket in the August general election after beating his opponent Oscar Omoke with 3,509 votes to 1,612.

Jalang’o said in an interview with a local media house that the journey was not a walk in the park, as people would imagine, because many times he was profiled as a comedian and not a politician.


“I have been profiled as a comedian who knows nothing about politics. But I knew I had to sell my agenda to the electorate,” Jalang’o said.

Jalang’o whose top agenda in Langata Constituency are the pertinent issues affecting the residents of the constituency said he would address the perennial problem of water shortage and unemployment, among others.


“Lack of water in areas such as Mugomo-Ini and other parts of the constituency will be addressed. Lang’ata is the home of Nairobi Dam. We had a sailing club in Lang’ata many years ago. We will get water for our people,” Jalang’o pledged.


Jalang’o who expressed his confidence and happiness that he was going to be Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition leader Raila Odinga’s MP looks to replace the incumbent area MP Nixon Korir of UDA.
