The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga has asked residents of Nyanza to vote in the six-piece pattern during the August general elections.

Raila termed that mode of voting as an effort to consolidate the strength of his government if he is elected president after the August general election.

The six-piece voting pattern requires voters to elect ODM candidates exclusively in all the positions from the MCA’s seat to the president.

Raila was speaking at Nyasore Village in Rachuonyo East Sub-county where he joined other members of the public to pay their last respects to the late Ambassador of Kenya to Qatar Paddy Ahenda who passed away early this month.

The former Prime Minister urged the Nyanza residents to unite and form a formidable force that will drive his bid for the presidency.

He said the people of Nyanza cannot achieve much if they are not united.

Raila admonished leaders who are creating divisions in the Luo community along the South and Central Nyanza lines.

He was accompanied by other ODM leaders, including Cyprian Awiti, Wycliffe Oparanya, James Ongwae, Babu Owino, Gladys Wanga, among others
