Undercover agents drawn from the elite Crime Research & Intelligence Bureau (CRIB) and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have finally unmasked the face of the mastermind behind the heinous incident in which a female motorist was sexually assaulted by a group of boda boda operators on Forest Road.

The suspect has been positively identified as Zacharia Nyaora Obadia. Preliminary forensic investigations placed the suspect at the scene of the crime.

Sleuths went after Nyaora on Tuesday afternoon in the heart of Mukuru Kayaba informal settlements, but he somehow caught wind of their mission and narrowly escaped the police dragnet after he dashed into a sewer duct and made his escape into the densely populated settlement.

Nyaora was also positively identified from the video by his wife and other relatives in his rural home as he assaulted the victim and the police say it is only a matter of time before he is nabbed.

The DCI has advised Nyaora to avoid engaging them in a cat-and-mouse chase and instead surrender at the DCI headquarters or nearest police station within 24 hours.

Other accomplices in Nyaora’s scheme captured in the video or not have also been identified by the same means and the DCI has ordered them to present themselves to the authorities too before the long limb of the law catches up with them.

The Forest Road incident has seen the arrest and fining of 229 boda boda operators for flouting rules.
