Jubilee Party’s Parliamentary Group has resolved that President Uhuru Kenyatta will continue serving as the party’s leader.

This comes after the MPs held a meeting at State House Nairobi on Friday.

The MPs issued a statement after the meeting showing that they have agreed to partner with other like-minded people who can continue with Uhuru’s agenda after his term is over.

The Jubilee MPs also said they will support a presidential candidate with whom they share common ideals, will treat them respectfully and include them in the formation of the next government.

“The Jubilee Party will seek to get into a coalition with like-minded parties and support a Presidential Candidate with whom we share common ideals, who will treat us with respect, and with whom we can form the next government as an ‘Anchor Partner’, to continue with the work done during the last 10 years,” the MPs statement read.

The party is now looking forward to recruiting more members, rebranding and holding their primaries ahead of the August general elections.

The parliamentary group meeting comes less than a month before its National Delegates Conference (NDC) scheduled for February 25 and February 26 at the KICC.
