ODM leader Raila Odinga has gone out of the country for a week’s trip to Ethiopia then later on to India.

According to Odinga’s spokesperson Dennis Onyango, Raila has flown to Addis Ababa for the 35th Summit of the African Union, which will take place from February 5 to February 6.

The former Prime Minister is scheduled to hold other events and meetings on the sidelines of the Summit.

"In his capacity as the African Union High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa, Mr. Odinga will hold Infrastructure related events and meetings on the sidelines of the Summit," reads the statement.

Before catching his flight to Ethiopia, Raila met the former Prime Minister of Ethiopia Hailemariam Desalegn Boshe and Ethiopia's Ambassador to Kenya Meses Alem.

He will then visit India before embarking on his journey back to Kenya mid next week.
