Mudavadi suffers another blow as Butere MP Tindi Mwale decamps to DAP-K

Amani National Congress party has suffered yet another blow following the defection of Butere Member of Parliament Tindi Mwale.

Mwale has defected to the Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) party where he was received by the party's leadership Wafula Wamunyinyi and Ayub Savula.

He cited ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi's move to work together with Deputy President William Ruto's United Democratic Alliance (UDA) as his reason for defection, as he was not in support of the same.

Mwale said he has been ANC's ardent supporter, a footsoldier and a close friend to Mudavadi. However, he said there were secret happenings at the party that shook him.

"I have been a diehard supporter of ANC, I have been a footsoldier and a close friend with to Mudavadi. However, there are some secret happenings at the party that got me shaken at Bomas," Mwale said.

Savula said assured Mwale that he would be on the ballot and would bypass the nominations.

"Tindi Mwale has come to this party under the assurance that he will be on the ballot in Butere and I as the deputy party leader I want to confirm to Tindi Mwale that he will not participate in the joint nominations. The agreement we are going to do with Azimio is that we must get to the ballot," Savula said.

The party leader, Wafula Wamunyinyi, took a swipe at Mudavadi and Wetangula and scoffed at them for claiming DAP-K is buying off MPs.

"Those who have gone to Tangatanga, Mudavadi and Weta claiming that we buy off MPs, how is that possible yet were are a young party, we are just growing. Tindi Mwale looked for me by himself," Wamunyinyi.

Mudavadi's ANC has witnessed an exodus of its members since Mudavadi announced they would be working together with Ruto ahead of the August general election.
