Detectives have arrested a police officer based at Ruiru police station and three accomplices following a robbery with violence incident in which an accountant was robbed of USD50,000 (approximately Sh5 million).
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives based at Parklands apprehended the officer alongside three employees of Mitsumi Business Park located along Muthithi road in Westlands.
The four are said to have accosted the accountant while inside a lift while armed with pistols together with others who are on the run as she was heading to deposit the cash in the bank.
According to DCI, sleuths managed to recover USD 10,000 from the house in Huruma estate of one of the suspects, Albert Ochola, who was linked to the armed robbery.
Ochola is a plumber in Mitsumi Business Park.

Detectives retrieved USD 12,300 from the house of Walter Kiverenge, company staff supervisor, at Kawagware which he had concealed inside a water dispenser.
Also in police custody is another suspect, Bernard Ogutu Oketch, in whose house in Mathare Area One, USD 10,000, a brand new television set and two mobile phones were recovered.
The suspects are expected to be arraigned in Nairobi on Thursday.
