Renowned Nairobi lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has claimed that some powerful government officials are behind the removal of Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji.

Ahmednasir posted his claim on his Twitter handle.

According to Ahmednasir, a number of Cabinet Secretaries have invested heavily in the venture. 

“Very powerful government officials have raised tens of millions of Shillings to remove DPP Haji. A number of Cabinet Secretaries have generously contributed to the fund,” he wrote.

The lawyer also that should Kenyans continue seeing endless petitions to the Public Service Commission, then they should know the petitions are generously funded.

“So if you see endless petitions to the Public Service Commission, then know they are generously funded!” Ahmednasir asserted.

The DPP has come under fire lately as there have been a series of petitions against him seeking his removal from office.

The petitions have been filed by slain tycoon Tob Cohens's sister Gabriel Hannan Van Straten, Francis Njeru, Ibrahim Ndung'u Ndirangu and Schon Noorani for various reasons.

However, the High Court stopped the Public Service Commission from considering two petitions seeking his removal.
