Business mogul Francis Njeru has filed a petition in court seeking the removal of Director of Public Prosecution(DPP) Noordin Haji from the office.

Njeru alleges that Haji interfered with a land-related case forming for his removal.

In 2020, Haji moved to the court requesting the removal of a case against two people he had charged with land fraud.

The Milimani court senior resident magistrate Roseline Aganyo ruled that the case was of public interest since it involved land fraud and must be heard to the end.

Ahmed Jibril with his co-accused Farah Mohamed was charged with conspiracy to defraud Njeru his land worth Sh150 million at the Nairobi Inland Container on 19, October 2015.

They were found guilty of making a false title document and obtaining land registration by false pretense.

However, Jibril denied the charges at milimani law courts and on January 21, 2020, he was released on an Sh2 million bond.

Later in October 2020, Njeru moved to court arguing that DPP had not shown that the withdrawal of the case against the two suspected was in line with the public interest and proper use of the criminal legal process.

He said the DPP and the accused persons did not challenge the charge sheet as being defective or give reasons for the application as required.
