Naivasha Member of Parliament, Jane Kihara, has come under fire from Kenyans after expressing sentiments that seem to have been targeted at a particular community for not paying rent in Nairobi.

Kihara said in 2007, they lived in people's houses in Kibera, Mathare, and Naivasha without paying rent until now.

The MP who is allied to DP Ruto made the utterances in an event that was attended by the second in command.

Her comments were received with mixed reactions from Kenyans across political divides. This comes when the government has issued a stern warning to anyone perpetrating electoral crimes.

Here are some of the sentiments from Kenyans regarding her statement.

The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) jointly with National Government Administration Officer (NGAO) has called for peace and harmony especially when the country is preparing for general elections.

The warning comes amid the rising political temperatures in the country with youth being the most targeted by politicians.
