Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has called for political fortitude and an end to the politics of hate speech.
Speaking in Meru county during his second visit to Chabuene Methodist Church, North Imenti, Mudavadi said politics of hate speech have started to ring and urged the church to preach peace and harmony.
His sentiments come when Kenya is expected to go to election in August 2022 and politics of succession have taken centre stage as top leaders position themselves to take over from President Uhuru Kenyatta whose second and final year will be next year.
Mudavadi said the church has the responsibility of educating Kenyans on the importance of electing leaders of high integrity.
"The church needs to help us in educating our people on the importance of electing leaders of moral integrity to leadership. Without civic education, we will not be able to elect the right leaders," Mudavadi said.
