Kiambu based detectives arrested a lady suspected of multiple motor vehicle fraud on Saturday.

The lady who goes by the name Eunice Lewa Kimonduo aka Agnes Mutheu was arrested for fraudulent sales of hired cars.

She was arrested in Gatundu where she was on the verge of selling a Toyota Wish car whose registration number is KCF 263A, which apparently was hired from Kitale.

The last of her numbered days had come after she tried selling the Toyota Wish to someone who had earlier escorted a friend to Kiambu DCI offices on July 15, 2021, to report a fraud case where Eunice had sold her a hired Toyota Axio registration number KCW 623B with bogus documents.

In that incident, the car was towed from a car wash in Ruaka after the car hire company in Nakuru from which the car was hired reported the vehicle stolen.

Detectives traced the vehicle to the car wash and impounded it just moments after the lady victim had paid Sh630,000 as the amount they agreed on with Eunice.

On the fateful Saturday, Kiambu DCI sent an undercover detective to accompany the buyer of the Toyota Wish to their meeting with Eunice.

In her usual modus operandi, Eunice arrived at the meeting with the vehicle’s forged documents in hand.

She was immediately arrested and put in custody at the Kiambu police station where she is helping the police with investigations that may lead to the arrest of her accomplices as she waits to be arraigned in court.
