The two leaders discussed new ways to upscale trade and investment between Kenya and UK, including in clean technology and renewables.

These are meant to build on the promise made at the G7 meeting to scale up support for sustainable infrastructure projects across the globe.

Boris congratulated Uhuru on Kenya’s record on increased adoption of renewable energy sources, and they agreed to work together to drive forward that agenda ahead of COP26.

The twosome also discussed the global response to the Covid-19 pandemic, with Uhuru welcoming the UK’s offer of 817,000 Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccines donated to Kenya.
