Daring thugs staged a broad daylight bank robbery at an Equity Bank branch in Matuu, Machakos County on Tuesday morning at around 9:00 am.
According to an eyewitness, the 3 hoodlums disarmed the police officer, who stood guard at the bank before storming into the bank and holding hostage the customers they found inside for about 10 minutes.
The thugs rustled an unknown amount of cash and scrammed after engaging police, who were alerted of the robbery in a gun battle.
One of the criminals is believed to have caught a police bullet during the exchange and police are still pursuing the thugs who escaped in a car.
