Passengers onboard a Skyward Express plane had the scare of their lives on Wednesday after their flight crahs-landed at the Boru Hache airstrip in Mandera County.
The aircraft; a Dash 8-100 registered 5Y-GRS which was on a charter service, had an emergency landing at the Boru Hache airstrip that still is under construction.

Skyward Express Management issued a statement Wednesday evening blaming the crash on a "highly contaminated highway".
The ill-fated flight from Wilson Airport in Nairobi and was headed for Mandera had 37 passengers and 4 crew members on board when it went down.

Luckily, no casualties were reported from the incident.

Skyward Express confirmed that all the passengers and crew were safe and had alighted from the plane after the unexpected landing hitch.
