CNN's Larry Madowo has sadly narrated how he has been heartbroken for the past few weeks after three of his relatives succumbed to Covid-19 and his grandmother hospitalized.
According to Madowo, in an article published on CNN's website, he has been on the low praying hard for his 96-year-old granny, who has spent 4 weeks on the ventilator battling the virus.
The former BBC and NTV reporter went deeper into his family agony revealing that his granny was vaccinated, but unfortunately too late after she had contracted Coronavirus.
The journalist revealed that he is always afraid of picking phone calls from his family members fearing he would receive sad news about his grandma’s passing.
“Every time I see a call from home, my heart sinks. I always fear that they’re ringing to say that my grandmother has died. She has been on a ventilator for four weeks and my anxiety is near breaking point. The dreaded call could come at any time: Covid-19. Again,” he wrote.

“By the time my grandmother got vaccinated by local officials, she had already been infected by Covid-19,” he went on.
Madowo also opened up on losing the three family members to the dreaded virus.
The former The Trend show presenter also revealed that he had just finished reporting about a crammed ICU facility in Uganda before he received the sad news of his uncle’s death.
He added that by condemning developed countries that had the Covid-19 vaccine in surplus but failed to supply to African Countries, which have had the lowest vacinnation rates.
He also narrated how he could not mourn his uncle as he had been buried within 48 hours following the Kenya government's strict Covid-19 containment measures.
While sharing his article published on CNN, Madowo added a caption saying, "I’m sharing this publicly for the first time because a vaccine on time could have protected my family from this pain."
Half of Americans have already been vaccinated, while only 1.5 per cent of those in Africa have received jabs for the virus, with many Western nations said to be hoarding the vaccine.
