Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi is counting huge losses after his multi-million shilling mansion in Runda estate in Nairobi was engulfed by a mysterious inferno early Wednesday morning.
According to Ngunyi, the night fire started at around 1:45am and burnt down the house he had been living in for the past 27 years.
Mutahi, however, questioned how blogger Dennis Itumbi, who works for Deputy President William Ruto, knew about the fire and tweeted about only 16 minutes after it broke out.
The cause of the fierce fire is yet to be established even as property belonging to the political scientist, who also consults for President Uhuru Kenyatta, was reduced to ashes.

Coincidentally, the fire broke out only hours after Ngunyi delved into the torching of a number of people in a Kiambaa church at the height of the 2008 post election violence in his 5th Estate channel.
