The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has distanced itself from alleged threats to senior counsel John Khaminwa’s life.
EACC has termed unfounded the claims that the anti graft body raided the office of the lawyer, who was one of the lawyers who appeared in court against the BBI appeal case.
The commission categorically denied any involvement in the raid at Khaminwa’s office, in a terse statement issued on their Twitter account.
“EACC wishes to notify the public that it did not conduct any operation yesterday and media reports suggesting that EACC visited the offices of John Khaminwa Senior Counsel are unfounded,” the statement read.
Khaminwa alleged that two men purporting to be officers from EACC paid him a visit and threatened him while also soliciting for money from his assistant.
