The National Treasury has released a press statement regarding the additional transfer of funds to the governments.
In the press statement dated Wednesday, 23 June 2021, NTP confirmed that an additional Sh. 43.5 billion was released to County Governments on June 22, 2021.
The funds are expected to clear pending dues up to April 2021.
The NPT said it will continue to call on county governments to first consider settling pending bills owed to suppliers alongside their statutory dues.
According to NPT, the payments will be closely monitored transfers weighed against the fulfilment of the government’s obligation to the private sector to enhance economic activity at county levels.

The NPT pledged to prioritize progressive clearing of dues for May 2021 and June 2021.
