Economist David Ndii has left many Kenyans talking after he called for amnesty for all past corruption cases, including those allegedly involving Deputy President William Ruto.
Ndii was before well known for his strong position on DP Ruto and blasted him many times for his alleged involvement in corrupt dealings and once vowed never to work with him.
In an interview on TV47, the former Raila Odinga aide called for the amnesty on all past corruption for the sake of transitional justice, saying the fight against graft has been weaponised for political gain.

"And my position, which I have articulated, in the context of transitional justice, it’s time for us to start talking about drawing a line, between past corruption. Because I don’t think we are actually gonna allow our institutions to fight corruption if we keep having this vicious cycle of weaponising corruption for politics," Ndii said.
He added, "If we can agree, and I am for amnesty on past corruption for everyone, including Ruto and everybody. If we can agree on that then we can talk about the potential for cooperating on elections.”
When challenged on his decision to work with the Deputy President after viciously attacking him online and offline on his track record, he said, “It’s not personal...political!”
Ndii worked with Raila and his opposition National super Alliance (NASA) brigade in the 2017 general election.

He this year declared openly that he had joined Ruto’s “hustler” movement as the DP continues with his campaign to replace his boss President Uhuru Kenyatta in next year’s general election after their political fallout.
