Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko on Saturday blasted President Uhuru Kenyatta criticizing him for allegedly taking the country on the wrong path and abandoning Kenyans. 

The Nairobi county boss, in a no holds barred video, expressed his disappointment with Kenyatta’s Jubilee administration accusing the president of abandoning Kenyans and beng insensitive to their plight. 

Sonko has been at loggerheads with Kenyatta and his administration after he transferred some key county functions to the national government through the Nairobi Metropolitan Services. 

The angry capital city county boss spoke after he delivered donations to a man whose house was demolished in Kibra slum, in a bid to reclaim land by the Kenya Railways Corporation. 

"We are not against development in the county but the handling of some of these projects is inhumane, especially the demolitions of people's houses and businesses,” said Sonko.

"We are tired of your government. We respect you but we are not afraid of you, that is why we shall address the issues that affect our people," Sonko added agitatedly. 

He called on the government to stop the demolitions by Kenya Railways, compensate residents who are supposed to be resettled to pave way for rail expansion and reclamation of land.

Ironically, Sonko spoke only hours after Kenyatta asked for forgiveness from any Kenyan who felt that he had wronged them in any way, during the second National Prayer Service. 

"If there's anyone that I have offended, I apologise and to those who have offended me, I forgive you," Kenyatta said as those in attendance applauded.
