Only 22 people have tested positive for Covid-19 from a sample of 595 tested in the past 24 hours, which brings to 39,449 the total number of confirmed Coronavirus cases in the country. 

This has been announced by the Ministry of Health, which reported that the cumulative tests in Kenya stand at 564,078, with the fresh cases involving Kenyans save for one foreigner. 

The new virus patients are 15 males and 7 females with the youngest being 18 years old and the oldest 65, even as 4 patients lost their lives bringing total fatalities to 735. 

Nairobi still leads the top 10 counties with the most number of confirmed Covid-19 cases with 20,971 cases, followed by Mombasa with 2,969 cases and Kiambu third with 2,776. 

Number four is Kajiado county with 1,981 cases, followed by Machakos with 1,340, Nakuru with 1,259, Busia with 1,246 followed by Kisumu 630, Uasin Gishu 628 and Migori 463 positive cases. 

Elgeyo Marakwet leads 10 Counties with the fewest cases since the virus struck, with 12 cases followed by West Pokot with 21, Marsabit 24, Tana River 25, Mandera 29 and Nyamira 30. 

Other counties are Vihiga 38, Wajir 41, Baringo 44 and Tharaka Nithi 55. 

In the new cases: Nairobi 18, Meru 2, Nakuru 1 and Kiambu 1. In Meru county, the two cases are all from Imenti North. In Nakuru, the case is from Naivasha, Kiambu case is from Kiambaa. 

At the same time, 376 people recovered from the disease, 360 from the Home-Based Care Program while 16 were discharged from various hospitals. 

Total recoveries now stand at 27,035, even as 1,029 healthcare workers have tested positive so far in Kenya (526 male, 503 female). The fatalities among health workers remains at 16.
