The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has confirmed the appointment of its new CEO Hussein Marjan.

Marjan has been holding the position in an acting capacity since the termination of the former CEO Ezra Chiloba in 2018.

According to the IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati, Marjan aced the interviews, leading the other 4 candidates.

IEBC, through its chair, congratulated Marjan on his new appointment as the Secretary/CEO of IEBC.

“The Commission congratulates Mr Marjan on his new appointment as the Commission’s Secretary/CEO of the IEBC,” Chebukati said.

Marjan will be responsible for heading the Secretariat that manages the daily operations of IEBC.

The new IEBC CEO is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a certified Information System Auditor (CISA), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), a Certified Quality Assessor (CQA), and Certification in Control Self Assessment (CCSA).

He holds a Masters Degree in Business Management in Strategic Management and a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce.
