KANU party leader Gideon Moi has echoed President Uhuru Kenyatta's sentiment by calling upon Kenyans not to elect crooks in the 2022 general elections.

Moi who was on a political tour in Kajiado County asked Kenyans to vote for leaders who will take care of the needs of ordinary citizens.

"Choose leaders who will take care of your needs and please do not vote for thieves," Moi said.

Moi made his remarks hours after Garissa Town MP Aden Duale asked President Uhuru to be specific after he asked Kenyans not to vote in thieves.

According to Duale, Uhuru insulted Jubilee supporters who voted for him when he said that there are thieves in government.

While in Kiambu, Uhuru urged Kenyans not to elect thieves and cautioned them against divisive and empty political rhetoric.

“Please don't allow Mwai Kibaki's 10 years and my 10 years to be destroyed by electing thugs and thieves,” Kenyatta said.
