Cops in Githurai 45 are looking for a suspect said to be mentally ill and alleged to have killed his mother and injured his twin brother.

The suspect, Erick Kamau, is reported to have jabbed his mother several times, killing her on spot.

The twin brother, Derick Mwangi, sustained knife wounds to the chest after trying to intervene and rescue her mother from his ill brother.

According to the Director of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Ruiru, Justus Ombati, the deceased had admitted the suspect to an institution for the mentally challenged so he could get some treatment.

His brother, Mwangi, is receiving treatment at St. Joseph's hospital while the body of the deceased has been moved to Kenyatta University Funeral Home.
