A form three 3 in Barotion, Londiani in Kericho County was arrested for the death of his father after the two clashed over a chicken.

According to reports confirmed by the area chief Sarah Sigey, the student quarrelled with his father after he came back home, only to find out that his father had sold his cock without consulting him.

Upon confronting his father over the matter, it is said that his father rubbished his inquiries, causing him to get angry.

A father to son brawl ensued, prompting the boy to fetch a ‘rungu’ with which he repeatedly bludgeoned his father on the head.

The commotion attracted the attention of their neighbours who rushed to their home, rescued the old man from impending death and rushed him to Londiani sub-district hospital.

Unfortunately, the man succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital.

The student is currently being held at Londiani Police station where he voluntarily surrendered himself and is waiting to be arraigned in court. 

His father’s body lies at St. Joseph Hospital Mortuary, Molo where it was transferred as police are still conducting investigations into the incident.
