Popular bongo musician Diamond Platnumz has cleverly answered those who petitioned to have him disqualified from the BET Awards scheduled this month.


According to the ‘Waah’ hit singer, he has no problem with whatever the section of Tanzanians decided to do and he fully respects their opinions.

Diamond was speaking during a ceremony held at popular Tanzanian actress Irene Uwoya’s residence to honour and celebrate her son Krish’s birthday.

“I respect everyone’s opinion, when someone enjoys my music, insults me, all I say is that I’m grateful,” Diamond said.


The popular artist has been hitting the headlines with his new sizzling songs in collaboration with popular artists and was lucky to be nominated for the Best International Act award.


However, the nomination did not go well with a section of Tanzanians who launched an online campaign to have him removed from the nomination.

Those who stood on the front line in pushing the campaign alleged that the singer previously supported the late president John Magufuli whom they termed as ‘dictator’.


According to the boss of the Wasafi records, he has not taken it personally and vowed to address in more details the petition in about a few days.


“Do not hate someone who says something bad about you, you never know, don’t let that anger get the better of you, tomorrow he might regret it and apologize to you,” said the musician.
