The death toll from the Covid-19 pandemic cases in Kenya increased to 1,744 after four more patients died in the past 24 hours.
In a statement, the Ministry of Health headed by Mutahi Kagwe, Kenya on Sunday also recorded 85 new Covid-19 cases and this increased the total confirmed cases to 99,983.
The new infections were confirmed from a total of 2,985 sample tested in the past 24 hours.
Similarly, a total of 33 patients of the virus recovered from the virus during the same period, 25 of them from Home-Based Isolation and Care and 8 from various health facilities across Kenya.
The total recoveries so far recorded in Kenya since the first Covid-19 case was confirmed in March last year stand at 82,969.

545 patients are admitted in various health facilities across Kenya and 1,568 on Home Based Isolation and Care, 27 in ICU; 15 of them on ventilatory support and 11 on supplemental oxygen.
One patient is currently under observation, another 14 are separately on supplementary oxygen with 10 of them in the general wards and four in the High Dependency Unit.
