A low number of 69 new Covid-19 infections were confirmed on Monday by Kenya’s Ministry of Health, pushing up the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 95,992.
According to MOH, the new suspiciously low numbers were confirmed from a sample of 1,987 tested in the last 24 hours bring total samples tested in Kenya to 1,035,309 since March.
The Ministry headed by Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe anunced that 6 more patients had succumbed to the ailment increasing the total Covid-19 fatalities in Kenya to 1,664 so far.
Out of the new Coronavirus cases, 53 are Kenyans with 16 being foreigners and the virus patients include 40 males and 29 females.
The youngest patient to get infected with Covid-19 is a 3-year-old child and the oldest is aged 86.

Similarly, the total number of patients who recovered from the virus in Kenya rose to 77,521 following the 98 new recoveries reported on Monday.
77 of the recoveries were reported from the home-based care programme while 21 were admitted in various hospitals across the country.
The low figures are expected to raise questions given how Kenyans, led by political leaders holding rallies, have been ignoring Covid-19 measures during Christmas festivities and no urgent measures have been taken by the government to reverse the infection trends.
it also comes at a time countries in europe led by UK and Italy are grappling with a new strain of the virus and Kenya is yet to take action on flights coming in from the regions experiencig the new and deadlier strain of Covid-19.
