Congolese rhumba sensation Fally Ipupa, Nigerian superstar Tiwa Savage and Kenya’s own Nyashinski gave electrifying performances at the Walker Town Nairobi Edition on Saturday.

The September 30 event sponsored by Kenya Breweries Limited’s Johnnie Walker was held at the Uhuru Gardens, which was filled to capacity, with the performances starting at 4pm.

Vijana Barubaru were among the opening acts and lit the stage with bangers including "Sasa Hivi," "Kale Kadnace," "Pillow Talk," and "Romantic Call," setting the mood for the evening.

DJ Linsey and DJ Pierra Makena tried to maintain the energy on the decks even as fans lamented over the many dead moments in between DJ and artists coming on stage.

Angela hit-maker Boutross also kept fans demanding for more as DJ Protégé tried his best followed by South African female DJ duo TxC with their killer Amapiano mixes and dance.

Fally Ipupa made his fans wait for too long and took to the stage past midnight but made up for it by belting out hit songs including Mayday, Maria PM, Bloque, Eloko Oyo as well as SL.

Afrobeats star Tiwa Savage followed but struggled a bit to charge the crowds to the levels set by Ipupa and performed Somebody’s Son, Won Da Mo, All Over, and Who is your guy?

Kenya’s Johnnie Walker brand ambassador Nyashinski gave his fans an exceptional performance with tunes like Malaika, Properly, Free, and Mungu Pekee among others.

Walker Town concert was meant to be an immersive cultural journey and incorporated music, art, fashion, gaming, and culinary delights to give fan a memorable experience.

However, a cross section of revelers who attended the concert complained about poor sound quality, security concerns, some attendees in the VIP section being forced to climb on their seats and tables to get a clearer view of the ongoing stage performances and poor flow and selection of DJs.
